About Us

We wanted to feed our horses the best possible so we started to grow our own Lucerne and make chaff in 1998. In the years since, our business has grown, mainly on the back of a good reputation.

Our Lucerne crops are grown on the fertile Heretaunga plains just south of Hastings in Hawkes Bay. The region is famous for its hot summer climate. It is naturally low in dust and we make sure that it has a high leaf content.

By controlling the growing, harvesting, hay making, baling, storage and chaffing processes we ensure that Oaklane Stables Chaff is consistently the best quality Lucerne available.
